We blogged a couple of weeks ago about Chicago in White, and I was there to see it all go down in person the night of Saturday, Aug. 25.
My date for the night, my friend Melissa, and I took the Brown Line — with all our supplies in tow, including a 30-inch card table and two folding chairs, plus real porcelain dishes and silver flatware — down to our Harmonization Point at Chicago and Franklin, where we met the other 140 or so people who would be progressing to the site with us.
The site, as it turned out, was the drive in front of the Merchandise Mart, overlooking the Chicago River. (It was a top-secret surprise until about five minutes before we departed!) We all cheered when we found out then boarded the next train, already packed with other white-clad revelers.
The rest of the event was so lovely it's difficult to describe in words…so I'll let my photos do the talking. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the night.
Here are a few of my favorite recap posts from the event:
Were you at Chicago in White? (Or, if you weren't, did you happen to spot us dining by the river at the Merchandise Mart?)
We'd love to see your photos from the event — link to them in the comments, tweet a picture to @ChiFoodPlanet or share them on our Facebook page!
