Chicago Food Planet Debuts Winter Experiences

Chicago Food Planet, an award-winning food tour and experience company, announced today it has partnered with Chicago restaurants to launch two new winter food experiences. Winter in Chicago’s neighborhoods has just become more fun and delicious. Beginning December 12th, Chicago Food Planet will offer neighborhood food experiences from December-March for the first time in the company’s eleven-year history. With two experiences available, The World’s Fare in Wicker Park and Winter Delights in Old Town, Chicago Food Planet is excited to showcase Chicago’s food scene to locals and visitors alike all year long.

Designed with winter in mind; these two food experiences limit outdoor exposure and are two hours in length. Lillie’s Q, The Chop Shop, Urban Belly, and 5411 will open their doors to Chicago Food Planet’s The World’s Fare experience for guests to enjoy exclusive culinary tastings and cocktail pairings. The World’s Fare pays homage to the history and impact of the World’s Columbian Exposition (also called The World’s Fair of 1893), while highlighting today’s modern restaurants and contemporary cuisine. Curated to highlight the world-wide cuisines present in Chicago; the experience will include enough food for dinner and drink pairings to match, all while walking just a few blocks. The World’s Fare is perfect for happy hour lovers, date night, work outings and all celebrations.

“For the price of dining at one restaurant, food lovers can enjoy a VIP experience at four amazing restaurants in Wicker Park. This will be a great opportunity for locals to adventure out during the winter, discover new restaurants and meet like-minded food lovers from Chicago and all over the world,” said Shane Kost, CEO of Chicago Food Planet. The World’s Fare will run Thursday through Sunday and is priced at $59, adults only.

Winter Food Experiences

Winter Delights, the second new neighborhood food experience, will allow attendees to enjoy the charm and history of Old Town while staying warm and tasting food from five locally owned restaurants. Stops include a Chicago taqueria focused on freshly prepared fish tacos and rice bowls, an authentic French bakery full of decadent pastries and a chocolate shop with Chicago’s largest collection of gourmet chocolates. Chicago Food Planet is excited to be partnering with Buzz Bait, The Spice House, Old Town Oil, La Fournette, and Cocoa & Co. to provide locals and tourists a new way to explore one of the most iconic neighborhoods in the city, while also supporting local artisans and specialty shops. Winter Delights will be available Friday through Sunday and starts at $42 for adults, but is available for all ages.

Petros K., recent Chicago Food Planet attendee says, “Having taken all the tours in previous years from Chicago Food Planet, I was seriously looking forward to the Winter Delights tour they started offering for the winter. They did not disappoint. It’s a fun tour that you can take all winter long as the distances spent walking outside between stops is minimal. Our guide Kent was a pleasure and It’s obvious he loves his job, this elevated the experience, and it made the two hours fly by. All stops were wonderful and informative. I loved how they me warm with the limited time outside, but also with delicious hot food and drinks (like the decadent drinking chocolate from Cocoa & Co.).”
