Memorial Day Weekend Recipe Must-Haves

Memorial Day weekend is here, which means summer has officially arrived. YAY! And in true Chicago fashion, we like to welcome summer by grabbing some friends, lighting some grills and sharing some laughs. And since we at Chicago Food Planet love a good summer barbecue as much as you do, we rounded up some outdoor-inspired recipes from a few of our favorite Chicago bloggers to give you a mouthwatering dose of Memorial Day meal inspiration.

Main course: Sweet and Savory Peanut Butter Bacon Burgers from Fresh and Foodie

Before you go all "what the heck?" on us, think about it. Peanut butter? Good. Bacon? Good. Burgers? Good. Yeah, it kinda makes sense.

Give your traditional pasta salad an upgrade with this recipe, which includes Israeli couscous and grilled corn.

Dessert: Homemade Samoas from Miss Renaissance

Yes. Samoas as in the Girl Scout cookies. Need we say more?

Drinks: Blood Orange Bloody Mary from Bloody Best

Bloodies aren't just for breakfast anymore. This exciting recipe uses tart blood oranges and gin for a fun spin on a classic.
